The National Unity Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR), and the Minority Affairs Institute Civil Society Network led by MAI Myanmar met and discussed.
The National Unity Government (NUG)'s Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR) and Minority Affairs Institute (MAI Myanmar) are led by 15 civil society organizations jointly with the Network of Minority Affairs Organizations on 3rd October 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. meeting with each other through the Zoom platform.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Ministry of Human Rights led by Deputy Minister Khun Baham Htan from MAI Myanmar and partner network organizations attended and discussed.
Based on the information consulted by the civil society organizations in the meeting, the issues faced by the minority groups during the sectoral revolution. Various groups discussed the rights and roles of members of minority groups in the establishment of a future federal democracy, including the laws and policies that have been discriminated against for a long time.
After that, the deputy minister, including the permanent secretary, had a discussion about the findings of the group's discussions. The Ministry of Human Rights and the Network of Minority Affairs Organizations discussed that they will communicate regularly.
